New Year, New Vision, New Exhibitions
Greetings and Happy New Year! We took a much-needed break over the holidays, after a whirlwind fall here at DGS. For our holiday gift this year, we pulled out our table top letterpress, some spray paint and a selection of deliciously soft museum board and made this print of a hummingbird on a florescent orange, pink and gold background. Did you know the fluttering wings of these tiny yet industrious birds move in the pattern of a figure eight? Here's to an infinitely creative and prosperous twenty eleven.

Print Magazine awards
DGS was awarded 3 times in Print Magazine's 2008 Regional Design Annual! The projects recognized included the book cover for Fritz Haeg's Edible Estates: Attack on the Front Lawn, Machine Project's membership package, and the book cover and packaging for Lize Mogel's An Atlas of Radical Cartography.
Lamp Community
DGS is proud to be building a new relationship with an outstanding Los
Angeles organization: Lamp Community. Their Build-a-Village campaign,
helping men and women with severe disabilities move from streets to
homes, aims to end chronic homelessness and transform lives. We helped
put together their campaign booklet, featuring cover art by residents
participating in their support services.
Parting is such sweet sorrow

2008 brings a world of new beginnings for the folks here at DGS. Our dear friend and partner, Gretchen Larsen, has left the West Coast for adventure in the Big Apple. Ever since we all can remember, Gretchen has been talking about the lure of New York City. We wish her all the best as she starts her journey and she'll be missed here more than she'll ever know.
